Where Can Gratitude Take Us?
By: Suzanne Marie Bandick

How far can gratitude go? Gratitude can go beyond us just feeling grateful.
We can tell people of our gratitude for them.
I appreciate you because _________. Thank you.
I am happy to have you in my life.

We can show people our gratitude.
What nice thing can we do for someone to show our gratitude today?
I baked my husband his favorite cookies yesterday even though they are time consuming to make. I told him it was because I was grateful to have him in my life and I appreciate everything he does for our family. Today he is taking me to lunch.

Simple and often amazing things can happen when we share our gratitude.
I believe gratitude can give us the best of life.
To feel and show gratitude makes me feel like I am living my dream now.

Some things are just best shared.
Go ahead share some gratitude today.

P.S. - I am truly grateful for you.

Do you earn money in a way that you love? Are you in your ideal job? If you need to work every day – are you doing something that you really enjoy? We spend a lot of time in our jobs and in pursuit of money not to enjoy ourselves at it. Imagine how it would feel to enjoy it!

If your answer is yes – you love your job - I am so happy for you. It feels wonderful and rewarding doesn’t it? If your answer is no – you hate your job - are you on your way to being able to do what you love?

Sometimes excuses can get in the way – do you have any?

There are many ways to make money doing what we love and many ways to make the transition from your current “just get by” job to your new “I love my day” job.

The first thing I would suggest you do is to give yourself permission to decide what you really want to be doing. How specific can you be in what you want? What does the change require? If you take away the excuses, can you see the little steps that would get you to your new dream job?

Would you be willing to start moving forward even if you can’t quite see how your end goal can be accomplished? You see it is only in our desire and by our tentative first steps in the direction we want to go that our “how” is often shown. Sometimes it can even seem like doors are opened to us as if by magic.

Opportunities can arise and people can come into our life that will help us reach our goal. That is when people will say to you that you were so lucky! You know, you have heard it before – maybe you have even said it about someone else before. The real truth will be: You decided what you really wanted and you were willing to take the first steps to get there – even when you didn’t know the “how” ahead of time. It is not really so hard to get lucky.

Sometimes it seems easier not to try, not to move, to stay in the same place … but what effect does this decision have on how you feel about yourself and your life on a day to day basis? The decision of whether to take the first steps is always yours because only you know how it feels. How does it feel? Which makes you feel better? That is the only guide you should listen to.

Go ahead – be daring – take the steps towards your dream job – and then prepare to get lucky!
